Asana Boost with Nancy Burtenshaw, RYT 500, YACEP Sunday, April 29th from 2:00 - 4:30pm
This intensive practice (based on Christina Sell’s Asana Junkies concept) helps practitioners skillfully journey to more advanced poses in a fun and supportive environment. You don’t need to be able to do advanced poses to join, but you must have a desire to work hard, know how to take care of yourself, and be light on yourself no matter how it goes. This is a unique opportunity to bring teacher and student more closely together as they are practicing with each other. Students will receive in-the- moment insights, cueing and coaching from the instructor (and some good laughs) which creates a slightly different flavor than when a teacher is leading a class. Enjoy practicing deeply as community and develop stamina, strength and appreciation for your body.
Not meant for beginning students or those with injuries or limited mobility.
Nancy has been a dedicated and passionate yoga practitioner since 2000 and a teacher since 2007. In 2011, along with her former partner, she opened Nourish Yoga (now Kula Yoga) and with heart and soul grew this vibrant yoga community until ownership was passed onto Madi Hull at the end of 2016. Nancy now lives and teaches back in her home town of Seattle.
Over the years Nancy has completed numerous immersions and teacher trainings and has been blessed to have trained with highly skilled and insightful teachers including Baron Baptiste, Tiffany Wood, Karen Sprute-Francovich, Christina Sell, Darren Rhodes, Jason Crandell and Noah Maze. Nancy received her first RYT 200 with Baron Baptiste; her second RYT 200 in the Anusara® School of Hatha Yoga lineage which she continues to study today (she holds an Anusara® Inspired status); and her advanced teacher training (RYT 500) with Noah Maze in 2014 which super-charged everything. Nancy has also pursued specialized training in Prenatal, Restorative Yoga and recently in iRest Yoga Nidra.
